TAI Curriculum Information
One of the great things about the TAI Martial Arts International system is the great diversity that is offered by our many different schools all over the world. TAI is not a series of techniques and forms, rather it is a specific method of choreographing martial arts in general for educational purposes.
This means that while we have no particular required forms, techniques, or even underbelt ranking system (this is all up to the individual school owner) we do have requirements based upon the method or presentation, choreography, how styles are blended, and the overall concepts that are presented. This allows us as Martial Artists to continue to learn, grow, and develope our arts without having to become dogmatically resigned to one particular way of doing things.
That being said, there are criteria that must be met for a currriculum to be certified as a TAI curriculum. Here are four points that offer the basic idea.
1) The curriculum must have been designed by a Master or Grand Master Instructor in the TAI system (please refer to the Instructor Certification page for more information on this).
2) The curriculum must be presented to the Executive Committee in written form and then approved by the Board of Directors.
3) The curriculum must follow a logical progression that can be rationally followed by the student.
4) The curriculum must reflect the underlying concepts, spirit of the art, and flowing choreography as originally designed by Grand Master David German.
Upon approval, the school will be sent a certificate verifying that it's curriculum meets these criteria. If you are a TAI school owner and do not have this certification please contact us to get started!
